US Politics has been a major talking point recently, and our Lunchtime Politics Forum on 18th March proved just how engaged our students are.
We were thrilled to welcome Professor Amy McKay from the University of Exeter’s Politics Department, who delivered an insightful session exploring US gun culture and legislation, exploring how historical traditions, constitutional debates, and modern political divides have shaped attitudes toward gun ownership in the United States, as well as the ongoing national conversation about regulation and public safety.
A huge thank you to Professor McKay for such an eye opening and thought provoking talk, offering our students a clearer understanding of why gun legislation remains one of the most contested issues in US politics today.
And well done to our Y12 Politics Ambassador, Freyja, for organising a fantastic event!
